The End of Fluorescent Does Not Mean Replacing the Fitting

The global phase-out of mercury lamps is bringing fluorescent lighting to an end. Restrictions are already in force across the EU, with further fluorescent lamp categories being withdrawn internationally through 2027.

For owners and managers of buildings with large T5 installations, the question is no longer whether to move away from fluorescent, but how to do it without unnecessarily replacing thousands of serviceable luminaires.

A Genuine Retrofit Solution

Installation is straightforward. The original fluorescent ballast is replaced with a new SELV flicker-free LED driver, while the existing wiring and lamp holders are retained.

This preserves the original lamp position and ensures accurate alignment with existing reflectors, diffusers and optical systems.

Damaged Lamp Holders

Where lamp holders are damaged or unsuitable, optional magnetic mounts securely position the LED tube without drilling or penetrating the original enclosure. This maintains the integrity and retrofit status of the luminaire.

Isollux treats the completed installation as a genuine luminaire retrofit, not simply a replacement lamp.

When specified components are used and installation follows Isollux instructions, Isollux takes responsibility for the retrofit solution meeting the applicable safety requirements of the original luminaire and warrants its performance.

Proven in Real Installations

Isollux T5 systems were independently tested in active HE and HO fluorescent installations under official supervision. They were required to match installed light levels, maintain or improve uniformity, preserve the visual appearance and comfort of the original fitting, and deliver up to five times the L90 lumen maintenance of the fluorescent system they replace.
