T5G | LED Tube
A Complete T5 Retrofit Solution
T5G is a specifier grade LED retro-fit solution that replaces the fluorescent tube and ballast with a genuine retrofit LED system, using a separate isolated SELV driver for safe, reliable operation.
The original luminaire body, reflector and optics remain in place, retaining the photometric performance and appearance of the existing installation while delivering the benefits of the latest LED technology.
Drivers are supplied pre-set to the required output ready for installation, with the option to specify wired or wireless lighting controls.
- Replaces the fluorescent tube and ballast
- Isolated SELV LED system
- Retains the existing luminaire and optics
- Pre-set fixed-output, DALI or Casambi driver
- 10-year warranty
Professional T5 Upgrades Made Simple
Specification is straightforward. Select the T5G length and CCT, confirm the power rating of the original fluorescent tube (HE or HO), choose CRI 85 or CRI 95 and nominate any required controls. We supply it ready to install.
T5G has the output range to match HE and HO fluorescent and can be configured to increase or reduce light levels where required, without the need for new lighting designs or photometry.
- Select by length and original HE or HO wattage
- Choose CCT and CRI
- Match, increase or reduce light levels
- Fixed-output, DALI or Casambi
- Driver supplied pre-set and ready to install
360º Light. Familiar Photometry.
T5 fluorescent relies on light emitted in every direction, with the luminaire reflector and optics redistributing it into the space. T5G retains this full 360º light output, allowing the existing luminaire to continue working in the way it was designed.
This helps preserve light distribution, uniformity and visual comfort, while maintaining upward and downward illumination in suspended architectural luminaires.
- True 360º omni-directional output
- Works with existing reflectors and optics
- Maintains light distribution and uniformity
- Upward and downward illumination
Optomise Savings and Colour Rendering
Choose CRI 85 for maximum efficacy with a solid improvement in colour rendering over conventional T5 fluorescent, or CRI 95 for optimum colour quality while retaining strong energy efficiency.
At 4000 K, the trade off is nominal 10% between the CRI 85 and CRI 95. With both offering significant colour rendering improvements compared to the legacy lamps they replace.
Nominal Efficacy
165 lm/W • 4000 K • CRI 85
- 148 lm/W • 4000 K • CRI 95
Consistent Colour
Standard CCT options and SDCM ≤3 colour consistency make it equally straightforward to match the required appearance of the installation.
- CRI 85 for maximum efficacy
- CRI 95 for optimum colour quality
- Standard CCT options
- SDCM ≤3 colour consistency
Reduce Energy, Not Performance
Matching the fluorescent output does not mean matching its power consumption. T5G can reduce energy consumption by up to 58% before controls while delivering the required light output.
Dimming, occupancy and daylight control can extend those savings further where required.
- Up to 58%, 'lux-for-lux' energy savings before controls
- Fixed-output or dimmable configurations
- DALI and Casambi control options
Rigid Glass Tube with Primary Diffuser.
The rigid glass outer tube keeps T5G straight and self-supports the internal diffuser and PCB assembly. The diffuser and high density arrays, eliminate LED spotting even when the lamp is dimmed.
Extraordinary Service life.
T5G delivers up to seven times the useful life of a standard LED retrofit tube and up to four times the L90 performance of the fluorescent it replaces.
- Rigid self-supporting glass tube
- No visible sag or deflection
- Up to 4× the L90 life of T5 fluorescent
- Up to 7× standard LED retrofit useful service life*
- 10-year warranty
Lumen Maintenance
T5G is designed around maintained performance, not simply initial output. L90 lumen maintenance of 57,500 hours provides up to four times the L90 lumen-maintenance life of the T5 fluorescent system it replaces.
LM-80 / TM-21 (2021) @ Ta 35ºC
- L90 >57,000 h
- L85 >10 Years 24/7
Simple, Safe Retrofit
T5G matches.
The separate isolated SELV driver keeps mains voltage out of the LED tube, providing a safe, serviceable architecture that simplifies installation and future maintenance.
- Standard T5 pin mounting
- Isolated SELV driver
- No mains voltage at the LED tube
- Fast, repeatable installation
Colour Rendering, Colour Temperature & Spectrum Control
With flat pricing across CRI 85, CRI 95 and Ambrite™, colour temperatures from 2700 K to 7000 K, and SDCM ≤3 as standard, T5G provides considerable flexibility to match or improve the light quality of the existing installation.
Optional CRI 97, COI compliance, selective spectrum control and circadian lighting extend this capability to colour-critical and specialist applications.

Why Replace the Fluorescent Ballast?
Retaining an ageing fluorescent ballast compromises the benefits of an LED upgrade. T5G replaces both the tube and ballast with a dedicated LED system, eliminating an unnecessary legacy component while improving efficiency, reliability and control.
No ageing fluorescent ballast left in circuit
Greater energy savings
Dedicated LED driver with modern controls
Reduced long-term maintenance
No dependence on obsolete fluorescent components
More Than a Replacement Tube
T5G is designed to upgrade the existing luminaire rather than simply replace the lamp. Output can be set to match the original fluorescent installation, reduced where less light is required, or increased to meet changing requirements while retaining the existing luminaire positions and optical design.
The result is a controlled, repeatable LED upgrade that preserves the value of the existing lighting infrastructure while extending its useful life.
Driver Selection, Controls & Project Support
-
The dedicated LED driver is fundamental to the performance of the T5G system. Driver selection allows output to be matched to the original HE or HO fluorescent installation while providing the efficiency, service life and control capability expected from a modern LED upgrade.
Drivers can be supplied pre-set to the required output or, where appropriate, specified with adjustable output for fine-tuning during installation and commissioning. This allows light levels to be matched, increased or reduced to suit the application without changing the existing luminaire positions.
For projects requiring simple on-site adjustment, DIP-switch drivers provide defined output settings without specialised programming equipment. Once commissioned, the system can operate as simple fixed-output lighting or be integrated with compatible controls.
Driver type, control capability and warranty can be selected to suit the project, with options available for warranties of up to ten years.
Pre-set or site-adjustable output
Match HE or HO fluorescent performance
DIP-switch options for simple field adjustment
Fixed-output and controlled configurations
Isolated SELV driver options
Driver warranties up to 10 years

T5G can integrate with existing lighting controls or introduce new control functionality without replacing the original luminaires. Options include conventional switching, 1–10 V, DALI, DALI DT8 and wireless systems including Casambi.
Where more precise output configuration is required, NFC and wireless-programmable drivers allow individual driver settings to be established electronically without mechanical adjustment. This is particularly useful for larger projects where output levels are determined from lighting calculations and applied consistently across multiple luminaires.
DALI DT8 and compatible control systems can also extend T5G beyond fixed-white replacement, supporting tunable white and circadian lighting applications.

For larger or more demanding upgrades, Isollux can provide photometric modelling and lighting design support to verify performance before installation.
Existing layouts can be modelled using DIALux or AGi32 to establish appropriate T5G output settings, assess maintained light levels and uniformity, or evaluate opportunities to reduce energy consumption while retaining the existing luminaire positions.
This provides a documented basis for major rollouts, allowing proposed results to be reviewed and verified before significant investment.
