Low Glare. High Uniformity
Soffito’s large luminous surface fills the room with soft, uniform light, avoiding the intense LED hotspots common to high-output luminaires. Broad diffuse illumination reduces glare from white and stainless-steel surfaces and carries light across walls, floors and around complex machinery, softening shadows across fast-moving production areas.
Improved visual comfort and reduced shadowing make detailed work easier, with clearer visibility around equipment supporting hygiene inspection, effective cleaning and safer day-to-day operation.

Ingress Protection
Soffito SLP is fully sealed to IP66 on all sides for cleanroom manufacturing, wash-down and wet-room applications. Integrated breather valves balance internal pressure during temperature changes to prevent condensation within the sealed luminaire.
Durability
Soffito uses a food-grade PBT/PCT engineering blend to create a lightweight, rust-free monocoque body with high mechanical strength, chemical resistance and dimensional stability across its specified cleanroom, laboratory and food-production environments.

Lighting Controls
Soffito supports dual-circuit switching for laboratories, animal housing and cleanroom inspection areas, through to DALI scheduling, DT8 tunable white, circadian lighting and custom spectrum options.
Advanced Spectral Control
Custom LED configurations provide precise spectral and wavelength control for photosensitive pharmaceutical, cleanroom and laboratory applications. Isollux Ambrite™ amber LEDs can be combined with standard white light within a single luminaire, providing controlled illumination for light-sensitive APIs, products and processes.

Emergency Lighting
Emergency options include a D250 90-minute 30 W emergency pack, an auxiliary inline 30 W driver to reduce UPS load, or DALI control to assign selected luminaires to an emergency scene. Full details at the bottom of this page.
Multi-Layer Moisture Protection
Fully sealed IP66 luminaire enclosure, with optional protective coating to both the PCB and LED where excessive levels of gasesous contaminants such as bromines are present.
Multi-Layer Electrical Protection
Drivers are factory de-rated to ≤80% of maximum output to reduce component stress and extend service life. Driver options include Class I, Division 2 rated models for hazardous locations, with multiple layers of electrical protection including:

Approved installation supports the full 10-year warranty; installation without an approved kit may limit warranty coverage.

Surface Mount
Where ceiling penetrations are impractical, the surface-mount kit provides a simple, secure solution for concrete ceilings, freezers and other specialist applications. In freezer installations, it maintains the PIR panel vapour barrier while allowing internal or remote driver mounting. Available in 304 or 316 stainless steel with powder-coated or epoxy white finishes.*
*150 W maximum with driver mounted inside the surface-mount enclosure; higher outputs available with remote drivers.

Recessed Mount
A range of recessed installation kits provides a secure, serviceable solution for substrates from plaster ceilings to insulated panels 50–300 mm deep. Each installation fire-flashes the penetration, with optional walk-safe covers for pedestrian-access areas. Recessed mounting is suitable for temperature-controlled environments where vapour integrity and thermal separation can be maintained.
For freezer PIR panels or where vapour separation cannot be maintained, specify the surface-mount enclosure.

Extreme low temperature operation
SLP supports low-temperature applications within its published ambient range. For freezer and cold-room installations, surface mounting maintains the PIR panel vapour barrier and avoids creating a thermal pathway through the insulated ceiling.
Optional Dual Lens
Minimises thermal exchange through the luminaire, helping prevent condensation near evaporators and reducing HVAC load in temperature-controlled environments.
Seamless Moulded Frame
Developed for hygiene-critical environments, Soffito’s low-profile, easy-clean moulded frame is rust-free, resistant to sanitisers and eliminates seams and joints where contamination can accumulate.
Seismic Safety Mounts
Each corner mount uses a 316 stainless-steel brace to connect the fixing bolt back to the main frame through a rubber damper and secondary seismic tether, providing an additional load path during extreme movement.
IP66 Valley Seal
Soffito forms an IP66 dry seal on flat, non-porous surfaces without silicone at just 3 Nm fixing torque. The convex profile eliminates dirt-catching ledges, while the valley provides a channel for wet-cure silicone to bridge construction gaps or material joins. Contractor torque-head kits ensure consistent installation.
Cleanroom Integration
The lightweight body simplifies installation into cleanroom ceiling systems, with recessed and surface-mount options designed to maintain room integrity and provide long-term service access. Custom configurations can incorporate UV systems for specialist applications.

Soffito’s cartridge system allows periodic light-engine and electronics upgrades without replacing the complete luminaire, reducing waste while maintaining performance over its extended service life.

Fully Serviceable Assembly
Soffito is designed around serviceable assemblies that can be accessed from above, allowing the light engine, electronics and seals to be maintained or upgraded without disturbing the cleanroom below.
Complete Luminaire Replacement
If major accidental damage requires complete replacement, the luminaire can be removed and reinstalled from above through its original ceiling penetration, without disturbing the room-side installation or requiring access equipment below.*
*Applies to Soffito installations using approved installation kits.

Fully Serviceable Assembly
Soffito has been in continuous production for more than a decade, with its tooling owned and maintained by Isollux. Replacement seals, lenses, upgrade kits and individual components remain available, supporting maintenance and repair throughout the extended life of the luminaire.
